#93 adorableDEMONZ - Cut Your Breaks
adorableDEMONZ, releases debut single Cut Your Breaks. This jaw grinding track is the triumphant result of a new project from Lewis Bootle. Miraculously rousing from a three-day coma in Addenbrookes Hospital Cambridge following a skull cracking skateboarding accident, his alter ego of adorableDEMONZ was formed. Taking influence from Gorillaz, The Clash and Arctic Monkeys, Cut Your Breaks presents a new sound riddled with angst. The track reflects a persistent battle of internalised voices during the trials and tribulations of navigating through life as a youngster in the ‘20s.
Self -produced in the height of lockdown, Cut Your Breaks fully captures adorableDEMONZ creative skill, emulating the DIY ethos of Tame Impala, playing guitar, bass, synths and melodica on the track. This multifaceted artist even produced the accompanying self-animated music video, inspired by cartoons such as South Park and Big Mouth. The video depicts the coming-of- age tale of Charlie, a youngster with a lust for club life whose drug abuse leads him down a shady path of addiction and paranoia – watch it here.
