#98 Fionn Regan - The Scene Is Dead
Laid Bare favourite Fionn Regan has released an epic new track The Scene is Dead. The Irish Singer-Songwriter rose to fame in 2006 with his Mercury-Prize nominated debut album The End of History, and has since graced the world with a continual stream of the highest quality Indie-Folk music. Branded as “his generations answer to Bob Dylan” by Lucinda Williams, this prolific artist has toured the world showcasing his genius to crowds at legendary festivals such as Glastonbury, Benicàssim and Electric Picnic in his home country of Ireland (to name a few!)
The Scene is Dead follows the release of album Cala on Abbey Records in 2019 and naturally retains Regan’s consistent high calibre sound. His acoustic tones are nuanced with a shimmer of electric harmonies which gently compliment the thought-provoking lyricism of sombre nature. Its’ ending is almost abrupt but entirely fitting to the track’s sentiment, leaving the listener in a state of yearning for more.
