#6 Harry Pane - Fletcher Bay

The excellent Harry Pane first performed with Laid Bare at the beginning of 2016, a year in which Harry clocked-up over 200 shows including performances at SXSW Festival, multiple Glastonbury stages, Big Feastival, CarFest and regular shows at Soho Farmhouse & Home House as well as sold-out headline shows across London.

We're a massive fan of Harry, and this wonderful track picks up where his last EP left off.

Fletcher Bay’ is a heart-warming tribute to Harry’s father who tragically passed away last year. The song ‘Changing’ from the last EP was written about his father’s battle with mental health and how he was improving but things took on a new meaning after his father’s sudden passing. Pane returned to Fletcher Bay at the end of 2016 to scatter the ashes of his late father.

That trip is the inspiration behind the song as he sings; “But I’ve returned to say, that I will leave and you will stay, your heart, your soul belongs at Fletcher Bay.”

The Wild Winds EP was recorded with Dani Castelar (Paolo Nutini, REM, Snow Patrol) in Valencia at the start of the year. It was funded by Island Records after Harry was picked as the winner of #Roadtothe100Club, a competition organised by PRS for Music, with judges including former PRS chairman Guy Fletcher O.B.E and Annie Christensen (A&R Island Records).

The EP details an emotional journey of grief and finally acceptance. It is a love story with a difference and features artwork created using string, resembling the idea of how long is life. It follows the acclaimed EP Changing which saw him championed by the likes of BBC Introducing London, BBC Northampton and John Kennedy at Radio X.

Continuing to bring his stunningly effortless performance and distinctive tone to stages across the country, Harry will be playing at Paper Dress Vintage on March 7th (tomorrow!) at the SESAC showcase. He then heads off on a run of UK headline dates in support of The Wild Winds EP, which includes a show London’s The Bedford on March 30th. Full dates below with more to be announced.
