#110 Kitti - Wonderful World

Glasgow based kitti is back with an exciting feel-good track Wonderful World. Following the release of her debut EP Young, Careless and Free, kitti presents the same high quality of musicality in Wonderful World, living up to her title of ‘Best Female Break Through’, crowned at the Scottish Music Awards 2020.

Wonderful World stays true to kitti’s Jazz and R&B roots taking influence from the likes of Erykah Baduh, D’Angelo and Mary J Blige. In a collaborative effort with the mastermind behind corto.alto, Liam Shortall, the track serves a warm hug of old school/nu-cool production, all while paying homage to the late great Louis Armstrong and his 1967 release of “What a Wonderful World”.

“When you feel like the world around you is collapsing and falling apart, take a closer look and appreciate the little things in life! That’s what this song means to me” - kitti

Accompanied by a generous serving of lush backing vocals and old school style brass,  kitti’s flawless and unique vocal performance is by no doubt the track’s centre piece, demonstrating her exciting talent and reasoning behind the well-earned award of “Best Vocalist” at the Scottish Jazz Awards 2020.

This head boppin’, catchy release was one of the additions to this week’s Laid Bare Selections playlist, have a listen here.

Wonderful World is available on all streaming services, check it out below.
