#34 otta - after it all blew over
The debut EP, after it all blew over, from South Londoner otta is remarkably impressive. The EP intriguingly wanders between elements of jazz, electronic and pop. A five-song collection that demonstrates a hypnotic and sophisticated style of writing.
after it all blew over begins with a delicate piano solo on the soft and calming Never Enough A Woman. The track instantly sets an attention-grabbing atmosphere, making it difficult to not be completely absorbed. The piano accompanies otta’s lush vocals perfectly, adding to the effortlessly smooth ambiance.
In the second track, small hours, otta provides a more electronic vibe through soft synths and a punchy drum throughout. A vibrant song that is both suitably balanced to the opening track and unique. Following
this, the tracks THE OTHERSIDE and Everything You Wanted continue to present otta’s beautiful voice amongst an interesting array of instrumentation. The EP closes through the entrancing track, the name of the five-song collection, after it all blew over.
