#41 when i look at you - Rosie Carney

Following Rosie Carney’s moving debut Bare back in 2019 - which was highly praised by the likes of The Sunday times, The Line of Best Fit and Mojo - the singer-songwriter is back with her hauntingly beautiful new single, when i look at you. A deep and heartfelt track that reveals how Rosie doesn’t shy away when it comes to opening up about personal struggles in her life.

Rosie’s echoey, smooth vocals perfectly accompany the stunning instrumentation. Delicate guitar and piano build a touching atmosphere throughout, making the message behind when i look at you even more believable. “I begged you to stay, as my mind spun around the room that day”, “Why’d you have to go?” and “Cried so hard that I couldn’t breathe” - paint an image of personal heartbreak and loss.

Watch Rosie’s intimate music video for when i look at you below, directed by Johnny Marchetta and Bjon Franklin.

Rosie’s ability to speak openly about her personal battles reveals her resilient nature and makes her song-writing increasingly poignant and special.

when i look at you is the first instalment to Rosie’s upcoming new EP, i dreamed i was the night, which is set to be released on 10 April.
