#120 - Sansha - Dream Dancer
Laid Bare favourite Sansha returns with new single Dream Dancer and it’s a vibe-y, bopp-y little number that we've had on repeat this last week!
And it’s her new ‘nephew-to-be‘ that plays a big role in her songwriting for the single:
"I started writing this song in Lockdown 2 when I had just found out that my brother and his girlfriend had got pregnant so that's why the cover is a baby, and the second verse is all about that! The title is named after the synth 'Dream Dancer' you hear all the way through. I had so much fun creating my disco soundscape dreams with Aria, who I co-produced this with."
Live, Sansha has been described as a 'Victoria Wood meets Lily Allen' hybrid and she has been aired on BBC Radio 1, Amazing Radio, 6Music and has been track of the week on BBC Introducing. Having classically trained on the violin and trumpet as a child, she now takes songwriting and production inspiration from a mixture of 70s bands, disco, and current DJs like DJ Koze and Caribou. Her upcoming single Dream Dancer, the third single off her upcoming album 'Big Time,' is a homage to these influences.
