#61 Axel Flóvent - Fireworks

Born and raised in the tiny Northern village of Húsavík in Iceland, singer-songwriter Axel Flóvent releases a stunning array of singles ahead of his debut album next January (15-2020). His latest instalment, Fireworks, instantly shows-offs his dreamy indie-folk style and transports you to the relaxing Icelandic environment.

Alongside Axel’s beautifully atmospheric vocals, Fireworks is accompanied by a heartfelt grand piano and slow strumming acoustic guitar that perfectly conveys the theme behind this track. Throughout the song you feel a sense of honestly and openness, as Axel reveals the details of a relationship breaking down - “The contant collision, is making me wanna go back, but its not an option, anymore”.

Showing elements of his earlier stripped back acoustic work, Axel is developing his sound after receiving help from the well renowned producer Ian Grimble. Working with artists such as Bear’s Den, 1975, Benjamin Francis Leftwich and Daughter, you can hear the mature and complete sound that Ian has brought to Axel’s music. Instruments sound bigger and brighter, and Axel’s voice creates an atmosphere like no other. Fireworks really shouts about what this wonderful rising artist has to offer.
