Emerging London artist House of El (aka Kieron McIntosh) is back with an irresistibly vibey new single You Don’t Know My Name. Having previously worked with the likes of Jay Prince and Laura Mvula, You Don’t Know My Name illuminates his natural aptitude for thought-evoking lyricism and has already been picked up by CLASH Magazine. This follows the release of Lazarus, a track which is just as impressive, both showcasing his impressive, yet sombre-tinged vocals.
‘‘You Don’t Know My Name‘ I did when I was really digging into that 70’s funk sound at the time. You know…. Sly & Bootsie... I wanted to talk about relationships (as a change), it’s that feeling when someone claims to love you but doesn’t really understand you. I’m always intrigued as to why people get obsessed with someone else. Ultimately, I think relationships are funny things because how can you really know anyone - I guess you just have to take that chance. Tom Ford on guitar and Karma Kid was on one, I think we wrote something like 3 tunes in one day - sometimes it just comes easy like that!" – House of El
Originally a jazz trumpeter, House of El furthered his musicality as he moved into producing and songwriting. He quickly established his credibility working with artists such as Plan B, Paloma Faith and Chase & Status before emerging with his own original material. Aside from his own artist project, House of EL is an accomplished arranger and has lent his skill to many luminaries in the world of popular music over the years.
