#42 Jasmine Jethwa - Empty Waters

New to the scene, 21-year-old singer-songwriter Jasmine Jethwa has been rapidly gaining attention with her calming and atmospheric style of writing. With only two single releases to her name, the London based artist has been supported by some big names - CLASH, Phil Taggart (BBC Radio 1) and The Independent.

Following her debut single, Running Circles, Jasmine has provided us with another gorgeous and enthralling track - Empty Waters. An intimate feeling throughout that provokes a deep feeling of relaxation. Lyrically, it appears Jasmine is reaching out to someone who is lost or unaware of a potentially damaging relationship; “I bet you wouldn’t notice, there’s darkness in the water, you’re lost, and you don’t know it”.

Both Running Circles and Empty Waters are part of Jasmine’s forthcoming debut EP, Hurricane, which is set to be released on 8 April. As debut’s go, Jasmine looks like she’s onto a stunner.
