#38 Pip Millett - Deeper Dark

Manchester based singer, Pip Millett, is fast on the rise with her unique R&B style and her remarkably smooth vocals. With only a handful of released material, Pip has already established herself as a sophisticated, introspective songwriter who isn’t afraid to explore various vulnerabilities. The result - authentic and honest music that welcomes you into her personal struggles. Deeper Dark is Pipa’s most recent release and is part of her forthcoming second EP, which is set to be released this coming April.

A voice note from Pip’s mother opens Deeper Dark, setting the emotional tone of the song. Throughout the track, the instrumentation remains acoustic and stripped back, drawing the attention to her warm vocals. Pip’s lyrics appear to unveil her personal experiences surrounding the challenges that come with love; “I don’t want to call you mine, but I don’t want you to be anybody else’s”. Pure lyrics that demonstrate the emotional qualities of Pipa’s music and continue to identify her as one of the UK’s most exciting breakthrough acts.

As well, Pipa has two headline shows - tickets can be found here.
