#78 Swimmers - SWM
London-based duo Swimmers are back with a new track SWM, following their debut release A Minute of Sunshine. The single incorporates seductively delicate vocals with addictive synths, defining their unique Alt Pop sound. In comparison to their debut, SWM introduces a more mature facet of sound, infusing singer Rosalee O’Connell’s ethereal vocals with Luis Correia’s textured electronics, sweeping the listener to a distinctive maelstrom of emotions.
The session musicians, who, until the events of 2020 were travelling the world with various projects, started writing together whilst locked down in separate countries. O’Connell, most recently featured on a single by legendary trance DJ Chicane, toured with Erasure, The Human League and Jools Holland. Portuguese guitarist & producer Luis had recently finished a collaborative tour with Earl Slick (David Bowie) and Bernard Fowler (The Rolling Stones). With such impressive backgrounds it’s unsurprising that the collaboration of these two successful artists has induced such an intricate pop sound that is simultaneously retro yet futuristic.
SWM has been picked up by Talk About Pop Music, which you can read here.
