#122 - 5 Tips To Find Your Perfect Producer!
Ask Fellow Musicians: Don’t be afraid to ask your musical peers who they work with. Most artists are happy to share the wealth so if they were satisfied with the work and the experience, there’s no reason they shouldn’t be willing to share their amazing producer with you.
A Dose of Healthy Instagram Stalking: Have a look through hashtags on Instagram and Tiktok, #ukproducer or #musicproducer for example. You can also go through Instagram followers of other artists or producers or check tagged people in the new release posts. Just remember, don’t be weird about it.
Check the credits: Spotify adds credits for each song. Go through playlists and songs that you like and check out who the producer on the track is. Simple. Be sure to check out their other songs before you contact them.
Universities: Have a look through the universities that have Music Production courses and check social media for their students. Just because they might not have any credits yet doesn’t mean they’re not perfect for you. Some unis to look through: BIMM, ACM, Point Blank, ICMP…
Networking: You’ve probably heard this a million times but networking is the basis for everything in music. Speak to people at gigs, industry events and the like. Don’t be shy, go say hi!
